Contact Improvisation Jams

Weekly meetings of contact improvisation dancers that take place world-wide are called “jams,” in which dancers participants participate and watch as they choose over the course of 2-4 hours

Synergy Dance Lab – Toronto

First Monday monthly

7-8 pm dance and music jam — 8:15-9 pm performance. Dancers $12  Audience $12

Contact/Boogie Dance Night – Peterborough

Monthly – Contact Improvisation followed by free-form Boogie

Next date: Friday, February 28th – 7:15-9:45 pm

$10 (or $5 if ten is too much)

First half of the evening will be contact improv with slower music and the second half will be open dancing to energetic/rhythmic music.

The POC jam is an Affinity Space for anyone who self-identifies as a Person of Colour.
It is a space with the possibility to:

~Share about our experiences
~Informally share knowledge
~Allow for differing levels of involvement & participation
~Be vulnerable & uneditedCome and dance… stay for tea & a chat in the comfy lounge area.

The Beaches Jam is a beginner friendly space.

• ask questions
• give and receive feedback
• dive deeper into your practice
• get 1-on-1 support from fellow dancers
• be comfortable with falls, rolls and lifts on padded floors
• work through material learned in your favorite workshops
